Eastern Hemlock Mandala, Tsuga canadensis

Hemlock Wooly Adelgids have destroyed Hemlocks en masse throughout the east. I was involved with treating some of the huge specimen trees in NC mountain parks, trying to save them. I hear park rangers still treat some of these surviving trees in the Smokies as they haven’t found a biological Adelgid predator.
